Analysis of data from week 51 (December 14–20) will determine whether the epidemic peak was reached this week. Regional indicators are presented on page 9 of this Epidemiological Bulletin.
Climate Change and Health Health threats are one of the main reasons for seeking to mitigate climate change. These health impacts are already observable through rising temperatures and extreme weather events. Over the years, these impacts will increase, with potentially major consequences for public health. Since 2009, the InVS has been working to better understand the risks associated with climate and climate change, particularly in relation to heat waves and extreme weather events. A better understanding of risk factors and vulnerable populations contributes to the prevention and management of these risks. The InVS is also interested in the health co-benefits of measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. On the occasion of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21), the InVS organized an international workshop on climate change and health in June 2015 to take stock of current knowledge and propose courses of action for the coming years.
