Public Health Surveillance in Languedoc-Roussillon. Epidemiological Update as of November 13, 2014.
Key Points
Surveillance of Chikungunya and Dengue: As of November 13, 2014, 231 suspected cases have been reported. Of these, 76 were confirmed as Chikungunya and 22 as Dengue; these cases contracted the disease while traveling in an endemic area (imported cases). To date, apart from the cluster of 11 cases linked to the same neighborhood in Montpellier, no other locally acquired cases of chikungunya or dengue have been identified elsewhere in the Languedoc-Roussillon region.
Bronchiolitis: The situation is stable at both the regional and national levels; the epidemic has not yet begun.
Bronchitis: The number of calls to SOS Médecins clinics in the region for bronchitis is fairly high, slightly higher than in previous years.
Gastroenteritis: no particular trend at the regional level.
