Public Health Surveillance in the Aquitaine Region. Epidemiological Update as of January 19, 2012.

News as of January 12, 2012

Measles Vaccination Coverage: Reimbursement data for the MMR vaccine (from the CNAMTS and a general sample of beneficiaries—provisional data as of June 30, 2011) show insufficient vaccination coverage for one and two doses of the vaccine, at 90% and 55%, respectively, by age 24 months for children born in 2009. It is therefore important to vaccinate individuals according to the recommendations of the vaccination schedule: http://www.invs.sante.fr/fr/Dossiers-thematiques/Maladies-infectieuses/Maladies-a-prevention-vaccinale/Rougeole

Influenza Vaccination Coverage: Available data show that influenza vaccination coverage is at the same level as last year. This level is insufficient, as only 47% of the target population had been vaccinated as of November 30, 2011 (34% among those under 65, 37% among those aged 65–69, and 55% among those aged 70 and older), a rate lower than that of 2009 (the pre-pandemic year) (source: CnamTS). Before the flu season begins, it is important to vaccinate people at risk of complications, in accordance with the vaccination schedule recommendations: Full http://www.invs.sante.fr/beh/2011/10_11/beh_10_11_2011.pdfDossier available at the following link: http://www.invs.sante.fr/Dossiers-thematiques/Maladies-infectieuses/Maladies-a-prevention-vaccinale/Grippe/
