Acute gastroenteritis (AGE) and AGE outbreaks in long-term care facilities (LTCFs)
Nationally, the number of consultations for gastroenteritis in hospital emergency departments and private practices continues to stabilize. In Aquitaine, this figure remains below alert thresholds.
Influenza and outbreaks of acute respiratory infections (ARI) in nursing homes
End of influenza surveillance for the 2012-2013 season. Note that the reporting system for clusters of ARI cases in nursing homes remains in place throughout the year.
Bronchiolitis
The 2012-2013 bronchiolitis epidemic was of moderate intensity compared to the previous season, with the onset of epidemic activity as early as late October and an intensification beginning in late November/early December, depending on the data sources. Since January, activity has gradually declined and has fallen below the thresholds. The on-call shifts organized by the AquiRespi network to care for children with seasonal respiratory illnesses will end this weekend (April 28).
