Mortality: The mortality rates recorded by civil registry offices are in line with the levels typically observed during this period.
Emergency room visits by vulnerable populations: Activity in emergency rooms for children under 1 year of age is stable but remains close to the alert threshold. No significant changes for those aged 75 and older.
Reportable Diseases (MDO)No unusual situation this week.
Acute gastroenteritis (AGE)Significant increase in activity in Aquitaine, approaching epidemic thresholds. In France, the rise continues, particularly among adults.
Influenza and influenza-like illnessesIn Aquitaine, the epidemic threshold has been exceeded according to the Oscour® network and is close to the alert threshold according to SOS Médecins. The majority of influenza viruses detected in France are type A.
BronchiolitisActivity remains high at SOS Médecins. The proportion of emergency room visits for bronchiolitis is slightly down, as is the number of cases managed by AquiRespi (188 during the last shift), but activity remains at epidemic levels.
Enterovirus Meningitis and Virology: Circulation of seasonal respiratory viruses according to Bordeaux University Hospital, notably RSV and rhinovirus.
Mushroom Poisoning – End of Surveillance - During the 2014 surveillance period in Aquitaine (July 1 to December 31), 106 cases of poisoning related to mushroom ingestion were recorded according to CAPTV and 21 according to Oscour® (1,213 and 486 in France).
Carbon monoxide poisoning (as of 12/31/14) Since September 2014, there have been 17 incidents of CO poisoning affecting 67 people in Aquitaine. Nationally, 19 deaths have been recorded since September 2014.
