Emergency department visits by vulnerable populationsActivity is in line with expectations for those aged 75 and older and those under 1 year of age.
Reportable Diseases (MDO)No notable situations since the beginning of April.
Virology and enterovirus meningitisFew cases of enterovirus meningitis (Oscour®, Bordeaux University Hospital).
Acute gastroenteritis (AGE)Low activity according to Oscour® and SOS Médecins in Aquitaine. Nationally, the number of AGE-related visits to primary care physicians and hospitals is declining.
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses Sporadic detection of influenza viruses in the population. 2013-2014 surveillance summary: a season marked by a mild, short-lived influenza epidemic, dominated by the circulation of A(H1N1) pdm09 and A(H3N2) viruses, with no particular severity.
Bronchiolitis: Activity has been stable for several weeks in Aquitaine, below the epidemic threshold according to SOS Médecins and Oscour®; 39 children were treated on April 12–13 according to the AquiRespi network.
Carbon Monoxide PoisoningSummary of the "heating" season (Sept. 2013–March 2014): 53 incidents were reported in Aquitaine, involving 115 exposed individuals and 77 transported to emergency departments. Nearly 40% of incidents involved a boiler or water heater, 23% a space heater, and 17% an internal combustion engine. The majority of incidents occurred in the home; 7 occurred in the workplace.
School Absenteeism: Overall absenteeism rate remains stable.
