Acute Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Brittany and Lower Normandy (2007). Analysis of Surveillance Data

33 cases were reported to the DDASS in Brittany in 2007. This number represents a significant increase compared to 2005. The majority of these cases involved domestic poisonings: 24 cases. There were 50 hospitalizations due to all causes of poisoning combined, but no deaths. Domestic poisonings are associated with the heating season. Hospital admissions involved people of both sexes and all ages. Boilers are the appliances most frequently implicated in poisonings occurring in the home. (R.A.)
