Lab-based HIV testing: In 2020, the number of HIV serology tests performed in Normandy was 62 per 1,000 inhabitants. This rate decreased compared to 2019.
HIV DO: The rate of newly diagnosed HIV-positive cases in Normandy was 41 per million inhabitants in 2020. It is lower than that of mainland France excluding the Île-de-France region (43 per million inhabitants).
e-DO: In 2020, 34% of the mandatory reporting forms for HIV-positive diagnoses in Normandy were complete. The majority of forms contained only the “laboratory” section, without the “clinician” section.
Screening for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
In 2020, regardless of the STI, a decline in the screening rate (for both men and women) was observed in Normandy as well as at the national level.
Syphilis: the screening rate in Normandy was 35.7 per 1,000 inhabitants.
Chlamydia trachomatis infections: the screening rate in Normandy was 31.2 per 1,000 inhabitants.
Gonococcal infections: the screening rate in Normandy was 28.9 per 1,000 inhabitants.
CeGIDD Activity Data
In 2020, 12,652 consultations were recorded in Normandy. These consultations involved 5,452 patients. The number of consultations decreased in 2020 between February and April. This decrease affected STI screening (of all types), outreach activities, and anonymous consultations. More than half of the patients were men (55.9%) with a median age of 24 years.
