Health Surveillance of Acute Gastroenteritis in Normandy. Update as of November 24, 2016.
Key Points
Monitoring of regional indicators shows that activity related to acute gastroenteritis (AGE) has continued to rise over the past two weeks, as expected following the end of school breaks. This trend is also being observed at the national level by Santé publique France and the Sentinelles network.AGE-related activity levels at SOS Médecins are currently higher than those observed during the 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons at the same time of year and equivalent to those of the 2014/15 season, during which the AGE epidemic was early, prolonged, and of sustained intensity. Activity related to GEA in emergency departments in Normandy is also higher than that observed in previous years during the same period. It primarily involves pediatric emergency departments.
