Health Monitoring in the Île-de-France Region. Update as of May 24, 2023.

Key Points

Chikungunya, dengue, Zika

  • 10 confirmed cases and 2 probable cases of dengue have been identified in Île-de-France, all imported since the start of enhanced surveillance in the region.

  • Cases imported from Guadeloupe (6), Brazil (2), Martinique (2), Cambodia (1), and Côte d’Ivoire (1).

  • All cases were potentially viremic in mainland France and resided in municipalities not colonized by the tiger mosquito.

COVID-19

  • Indicators of viral circulation were declining in all age groups except for those under 30, among whom transmission was increasing slightly to low levels.

  • The positivity rate was rising in 6 out of 8 departments.

  • Omicron variants dominated by recombinants remained the majority.

  • Visits to emergency departments related to COVID-19 decreased, as did consultations at SOS Médecins clinics.

  • Hospitalizations for or related to SARS-CoV-2 infection were decreasing, as were admissions to critical care units. Hospital deaths related to COVID-19 remained stable.

  • COVID data from social and medico-social institutions (ESMS): reports and cases among ESMS residents were declining. The number of cases among staff remained stable and low.
