In week 29, the second week of high temperatures, there was a continued increase in cases of hyperthermia diagnosed by hospital emergency departments (EDs) and calls to SOS Médecins for direct heat-related effects: this health impact does not primarily affect people aged 75 or older. Cases of renal colic in adults under 75, possibly related to the heat, also increased. It should be noted that the continuation of the heat wave at the start of week 30 resulted on Monday, July 22, in a peak in the "heat" indicator in EDs, which was more pronounced among older adults.
