COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Île-de-France Region as of June 16, 2022
Key Points
In Week 23 in Île-de-France, the rise in virological and hospital indicators continued at a more pronounced rate, prompting continued vigilance in the coming weeks.
The adjusted regional crude incidence rate rose to 472 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
The same upward trend was observed overall for the testing rate.
The positivity rate (19.5%) increased at the regional level and across all Île-de-France departments for the third consecutive week.
The BA.2 sublineage of the Omicron variant remains predominant in Île-de-France, but there are steady increases in the share of the BA.4 and BA.5 sublineages.
Use of primary care services (SOS Médecins & Oscour) for “suspected COVID-19” increased slightly.
The number of new hospitalizations and the number of new admissions to intensive care units increased. The number of COVID-19-related deaths in hospitals decreased. (SI-VIC data).
New reports of COVID-19 cases by long-term care facilities remained stable, but the number of cases among residents was increasing.
Vaccination coverage is progressing slowly in the region.
Given the continued circulation of SARS-CoV-2, vaccination (and booster shots) for all eligible individuals remains essential and must be combined with strict adherence to other preventive measures.
