  • None of the departments in Île-de-France were under a heat wave advisory last week.

Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games

  • Hospital emergency room activity: The number of emergency room visits was on the rise, primarily among children aged 2 to 15. The number of hospitalizations following emergency room visits remained stable. Note an increase in emergency room visits and activity related to trauma, asthma, and alcohol.

  • Activity at SOS Médecins clinics: The number of consultations at SOS Médecins was on the rise, primarily among children under 15 years of age. There was an increase in the number of procedures and activity at SOS Médecins related to asthma and gastroenteritis. The upward trends in activity at emergency departments and at SOS Médecins remained within the usual fluctuations at the end of the summer season, with the return of vacationers and the start of the school year.

  • SARS-CoV-2 surveillance in wastewater: a trend toward stabilization in the level of SARS-CoV-2 circulation in wastewater was generally observed between weeks 33 and 35.

  • Activity of the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP): the number of victims treated was on the rise. The proportion of the various monitored causes within total activity remained stable.

Dengue, Chikungunya, Zika

  • 280 confirmed or probable cases of imported dengue were investigated in Île-de-France.

  • An initial atypical case of chikungunya detected in late July was classified as locally acquired in Île-de-France, as it met the definition criteria. There is no link to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

COVID-19

  • Stabilization of indicators for all age groups regarding outpatient and emergency care utilization, and an increase in SOS Médecins calls and emergency room visits among children under 15 in Île-de-France.

Measles

  • The number of cases reported through mandatory reporting, as well as visits to emergency departments, decreased significantly in August. For week 35, only one emergency department visit for measles was reported.

Pertussis

  • SOS Médecins consultations stabilized and emergency room visits for whooping cough decreased in week 35 compared to the previous week.
