None of the departments in Île-de-France were under a heat wave advisory last week.
Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Hospital emergency room activity: The number of emergency room visits and hospitalizations remained stable compared to week 35. Note an increase in emergency room visits and activity related to alcohol, as well as fever and skin rashes.
Activity of SOS Médecins: The number of consultations at SOS Médecins increased. There was an increase in the number of procedures at SOS Médecins for asthma, lower respiratory tract infections, and gastroenteritis.
Activity of the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP): The number of patient admissions was on the rise.
The upward trends in activity at emergency departments, SOS Médecins, and the BSPP remained within fluctuations similar to those of last year, coinciding with the return of vacationers and the start of the school year.
Dengue, Chikungunya, Zika
330 confirmed or probable cases of imported dengue were investigated in Île-de-France.
An initial atypical case of chikungunya detected in late July in Île-de-France was classified as locally acquired, as it met the definition criteria. There is no link to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
COVID-19
As anticipated, there has been an increase in indicators of outpatient care utilization across all age groups and stabilization in emergency department visits.
SARS-CoV-2 surveillance in wastewater: an overall upward trend in SARS-CoV-2 circulation levels in wastewater was observed between weeks 35 and 36.
Asthma
An increase in emergency room visits and visits followed by hospitalization, as well as SOS Médecins consultations, compared to the previous week. These increases mainly concerned children aged 0 to 14.
