Health Monitoring in the Hauts-de-France Region. Update as of December 28, 2023.
Key Points
Influenza
Transition to epidemic phase.
Epidemiological surveillance indicators for influenza in the community and in hospitals continued to rise in week 51.
The influenza virus positivity rate is rising in the community and at Lille University Hospital.
Since week 50, there has been a rise in severe influenza cases hospitalized in the region’s sentinel intensive care units, as well as clusters of acute respiratory infections in long-term care facilities linked to influenza.
Bronchiolitis
Epidemic phase for the 8th consecutive week.
The decline in bronchiolitis activity continues in emergency departments and is stabilizing at SOS Médecins, but remains at a high level.
The peak of the epidemic was reached in week 47 in the region.
COVID-19
The number of visits for suspected Covid-19 conducted by SOS Médecins is decreasing, as are emergency department visits, with activity levels remaining stable.
SARS-CoV-2 circulation is decreasing slightly in Hauts-de-France compared to the previous week.
Acute Gastroenteritis
Activity levels remain stable at SOS Médecins and are slightly increasing in emergency departments, at a moderate level.
Pneumonia
Seekings of care for pneumonia are relatively stable in the region’s emergency departments and at SOS Médecins compared to the previous week but remain at a high level.
Activity levels in both community settings and hospitals are higher than those observed during the same periods in previous years. This increase is more pronounced among those under 15 years of age.
However, the number of hospitalizations for pneumonia remains low and generally stable in week 51 compared to the previous week.
