Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Conclusions for GuadeloupeBetween mid-August and early October 2015, the epidemiological situation regarding arboviral diseases (dengue and chikungunya) in Guadeloupe remained very calm, continuing the trend already observed during the previous two months. The level of epidemiological indicators for dengue collected both in private practice and in hospitals is well below the maximum values expected for the season. No outbreaks of dengue or chikungunya have been identified in the department in recent weeks.

Conclusions for Martinique: Martinique continues to experience a particularly calm situation regarding the circulation of arboviruses (dengue and chikungunya). All epidemiological surveillance indicators are below the maximum level expected for the season. However, there has been an increase in the estimated number of clinically suggestive dengue cases compared to the last epidemiological update. Over the past seven weeks, no dengue or chikungunya outbreaks have been detected in the various municipalities of the department.

Conclusions for Saint Martin: The circulation of dengue viruses remains sporadic in Saint Martin. The weekly number of consultations for suspected chikungunya is at its lowest level in the past four months.

Conclusions for Saint Barthélemy: Arbovirus activity (dengue and chikungunya) in Saint Barthélemy remains very low compared to the last epidemiological update; no consultations for dengue and three consultations for chikungunya were recorded over the past seven weeks.
