    • HIV testing activity increased in 2023 and is at its highest level in the past ten years

    • Women aged 15 to 49 are the group most likely to get tested

    • Use of the VIHTEST program, which has remained generally stable since its launch in 2022, rose sharply toward the end of 2023

  • HIV Diagnosis

    • The number of people who learned they were HIV-positive in 2023 was estimated at nearly 300, and is on the rise in 2023, contrary to trends observed in previous years

    • 22% of HIV infections were diagnosed at an advanced stage; this proportion has generally been declining since 2020

  • HIV incidence and size of the undiagnosed population

    • In 2023, the incidence of HIV was estimated at approximately 160, and the number of people living with HIV without knowing their status was just over 500

  • AIDS diagnoses

    • The number of AIDS diagnoses in the Grand Est region was estimated at 59

Chlamydia trachomatis (Ct) infection

  • The screening rate increased slightly in 2023, reaching 41 per 1,000 inhabitants

  • The diagnosis rate has remained stable in recent years. It is highest among women aged 15 to 25

  • 67% of chlamydia cases diagnosed at the region’s Cegidd centers involved people under 26

Gonococcal infection

  • The screening rate increased slightly in 2023, reaching 47 per 1,000 inhabitants

  • The diagnosis rate is increasing across all age groups and is highest among men aged 26 to 49

  • Cisgender men accounted for the majority of gonococcal infections seen at Cegidds

Syphilis

  • The screening rate increased slightly in 2023, reaching 41 per 1,000 residents

  • Men aged 26 to 49 have the highest diagnosis rate, and within this group, the rate has been rising steadily since 2020

  • At Cegidd, MSM were the most affected by syphilis (69% of cases)
