Flu
OSCOUR®: The number of emergency department visits for flu-like illness, across all age groups, remained stable in week 39 of 2023. Activity levels remain low and are similar to those observed last year.
SOS Médecins: Following an increase observed since early September, the number of consultations for flu-like illness, across all age groups, was slightly lower in week 39 of 2023, representing an activity rate of 3.5%, higher than that observed in the two previous years during the same period.
Virology data: According to data from the virology laboratories at the University Hospitals of Nancy, Reims, and Strasbourg, influenza virus circulation remains low in week 39 of 2023.
Bronchiolitis
OSCOUR®: In week 39 of 2023, the proportion of activity related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age in emergency departments remained stable compared to the previous week. It stood at 4.6%, representing 61 visits. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is 9.6% and remains stable compared to the previous week.
SOS Médecins: In week 39 of 2023, the proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age is increasing. It stands at 6.6%, representing 29 consultations.
Virology data: According to results from the virology laboratories at the University Hospitals of Nancy, Reims, and Strasbourg, in week 39 of 2023, the circulation of enteroviruses and rhinoviruses is decreasing. Furthermore, the circulation of RSV remains low.
COVID-19
OSCOUR®: In week 39 of 2023, the number of emergency department visits for COVID-19 increased slightly (265 visits compared to 237 in week 38 of 2023), representing 1.1% of total activity.
SOS Médecins: In week 39 of 2023, the number of SOS Médecins consultations for COVID-19 remained stable (280 consultations compared to 278 in week 38 of 2023), representing 4.0% of the activity of SOS Médecins associations in the region.
SARS-CoV-2 virological surveillance: In week 39-2023, the incidence rate in the region has stabilized (64.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants vs. 66.6 per 100,000 in week 38-2023). Only four departments have an incidence rate below 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants: Aube, Marne, Haute-Marne, and Vosges; while Meurthe-et-Moselle has the highest incidence rate (87 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) in the region.
