Key Points
COVID-19
The incidence rate decreased in week 05-2023 and remained below 50 cases per 100,000 population for the third consecutive week (with 36 cases per 100,000 population compared to 43 in week 04-2023);
The incidence rate is also decreasing across all age groups, except among those aged 70 and older, where it remains stable;
The positivity rate (5.2%) is stable compared to the previous week;
The testing rate is 690 tests per 100,000 inhabitants in week 05-2023 and is decreasing across all age groups.
Bronchiolitis
OSCOUR®: In week 05-2023, the proportion of emergency department visits related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age decreased slightly. It stands at 6.8%, or 90 visits. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit remained stable at 13.5% in week 05-2023.
SOS Médecins: In week 05-2023, the proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age was 5.4%, stable compared to week 04-2023.
Virology data: According to results from the virology laboratories at the University Hospitals of Strasbourg, Nancy, and Reims, in week 05-2023, the circulation of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) continues to decline.
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses
OSCOUR®: In week 05-2023, the number of emergency department visits for influenza-like illness, across all ages, rose sharply compared to the previous week (399 versus 243 in week 04-2023). The proportion of influenza-related cases is also rising, with 1.6% of emergency department visits linked to influenza.
SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like illness, across all age groups, is up compared to the previous week (727 consultations versus 628 in W04-2023), representing 10.4% of total activity.
Acute Gastroenteritis
Oscour®: The number of emergency department visits for acute gastroenteritis (AGE) across all age groups increased in week 05-2023 compared to week 04-2023 (322 versus 258 in week 04-2023), representing 1.4% of activity. The proportion of hospitalizations for acute gastroenteritis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is 0.8%.
SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for GEA across all age groups increased in week 05-2023 compared to week 04-2023 (615 versus 568 in W04-2023), representing 8.8% of total activity. There were 2 hospitalizations for GEA following an SOS Médecins consultation in week 05-2023 (compared to 3 hospitalizations in week 04-2023).
Virology data: According to data from the virology laboratories at the University Hospitals of Nancy, Strasbourg, and Reims, the circulation of enteric viruses is stable and consists primarily of norovirus.
