Key Points

COVID-19

  • The incidence rate continued to decline in week 06-2023 and remained below 50 cases per 100,000 residents for the fourth consecutive week (with 32 cases per 100,000 residents compared to 36 in week 05-2023);

  • The incidence rate is declining across all age groups;

  • The positivity rate (4.2%) is slightly lower than the previous week, although it is rising among those aged 70–79;

  • The testing rate was 648 tests per 100,000 inhabitants in week 06-2023, decreasing across all age groups.

Bronchiolitis

  • OSCOUR®: In week 06-2023, the proportion of emergency department visits related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age decreased slightly. It stood at 6%, or 70 visits. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is slightly increasing, reaching nearly 17% for week 06-2023.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 06-2023, the proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age was 3.7%, stable compared to week 05-2023.

  • Virology data: According to results from the virology laboratories at the University Hospitals of Strasbourg, Nancy, and Reims, in week 06-2023, the circulation of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) continues to decline.

Influenza and influenza-like illnesses

  • OSCOUR®: In week 06-2023, the number of emergency department visits for influenza-like illness, across all ages, stabilized compared to the previous week (398 versus 400 in week 05-2023). The proportion of cases remained virtually unchanged, with 1.7% of emergency department visits related to influenza.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like symptoms, across all age groups, remains stable compared to the previous week (756 consultations versus 727 in W05-2023), representing 10.4% of total activity.

Acute Gastroenteritis

  • Oscour®: The number of emergency department visits for acute gastroenteritis across all age groups decreased in week 06-2023 compared to week 05-2023 (275 versus 321 in week 05-2023), representing 1.4% of activity. The proportion of hospitalizations for acute gastroenteritis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is 0.8%.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for GEA across all ages increased in week 06-2023 compared to week 05-2023 (604 versus 613 in W05-2023), representing 8.4% of activity. There were 3 hospitalizations for GEA following a SOS Médecins consultation in week 06-2023 (compared to 2 hospitalizations in week 05-2023).

  • Virology data: According to data from the virology laboratories at the University Hospitals of Nancy, Strasbourg, and Reims, the circulation of enteric viruses is increasing slightly and is primarily due to norovirus.
