Epidemiological surveillance in the Lorraine region. Update as of October 8, 2015.
Key Findings
Since September 7, 2015 (week 37), bronchiolitis activity for both data sources has been low and similar to that observed in previous years during the same period.
Since week 37, the number of cases of gastroenteritis and diarrhea has been in line with expected values outside of the epidemic season. In week 40, 100 weekly diagnoses were made by emergency departments and 51 by the SOS Médecins Meurthe-et-Moselle association.
According to available data, no unusual increase in mortality has been observed in Lorraine over the past few weeks. Since the time lag for reporting death data exceeds 7 days, data for week 40 are currently being consolidated.
Information on national influenza surveillance by the InVS: surveillance resumed on October 1 for the 2015-2016 winter season. All indicators are currently at their baseline levels. The first national weekly influenza bulletin, issued on October 7, is available on the InVS website.
