Surveillance of occupational diseases in the Centre-Val de Loire region: results for the first half of 2024
Occupational diseases (ODs) encompass all illnesses that any physician—particularly occupational physicians—deem, based on their expertise, to be related to work and that have not already been recognized by a social security system. In light of the public health challenges associated with the underreporting of occupational diseases, Santé publique France, in collaboration with the Medical Labor Inspection (IMT) of the Ministry of Labor, has established a system for health monitoring and epidemiological surveillance of ODs. The MCP program relies on the voluntary participation of occupational health teams, which report twice a year, during two consecutive weeks (known as “MCP Fortnights”), all MCPs encountered during consultations with employees. In the Centre-Val de Loire region, it has been jointly conducted since 2008 by Santé publique France, the IMT of the Centre-Val de Loire Regional Directorate for the Economy, Employment, Labor, and Solidarity (Dreets), and the Centre-Val de Loire Regional Health Observatory (ORS). This brochure focuses on the analysis of data from the two MCP Fortnight surveys conducted in 2024.
