Key Points

COVID-19

  • SOS Médecins: In week 28, indicators of healthcare utilization for suspected COVID-19 cases showed a slight increase for SOS Médecins, with an activity rate of 0.6%, representing 8 cases (0.3% in week 27, representing 4 cases).

  • Oscour®: In week 28, indicators of healthcare utilization for suspected COVID-19 were down for hospital emergency departments, with a 0.1% activity rate, or 16 visits (0.2% in week 27, 18 visits).

Gastroenteritis and Acute Diarrhea

  • SOS Médecins: Low activity level

  • Oscour®: Moderate activity level

Chickenpox

  • SOS Médecins: In week 28, there was an increase in the number of SOS Médecins consultations for chickenpox, with 22 visits, representing 1.8% of SOS Médecins activity (18 visits, or 1.4%, in week 27).

  • Oscour®: In week 28, there was an increase in the number of emergency room visits for chickenpox, with 44 visits representing 0.4% of activity (26 visits, or 0.2%, in week 27). Four cases were hospitalized.

Allergies

  • SOS Médecins: In week 28, the number of medical procedures for allergies (n = 30) remained stable compared to week 27 (n = 30) and accounted for 2.4% of medical procedures (2.3% in week 27).

  • Oscour®: In week 28, the number of emergency room visits for allergies (n = 191) increased compared to week 27 (n = 121) and accounted for 1.5% of visits. The hospitalization rate was 5.8%.

Asthma (ages 2–14)

  • SOS Médecins: The number of medical procedures for asthma among 2- to 14-year-olds (n = 6) was down compared to week 27 (n = 9) and accounted for 2.3% of medical procedures in this age group (Figure 13).

  • Oscour®: In week 28, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, the number of emergency department visits for asthma among 2- to 14-year-olds (n = 43) was down compared to week 27 (n = 48) and accounted for 2.0% of visits in this age group (Figure 14).

Heat-related conditions

  • SOS Médecins: The number of SOS Médecins calls for heat-related diagnoses (n = 9) was up compared to week 27 (n = 5) and accounted for 0.7% of SOS Médecins calls.

  • Oscour®: The number of emergency department visits for heat-related diagnoses (n = 42) decreased compared to week 27 (n = 49) and accounted for 0.3% of visits.
