Public Health France Health Barometer: Results of the 2024 Edition. Brittany Edition

For more than thirty years, the Santé publique France Barometer has been an indispensable tool for understanding the behaviors, perceptions, and health determinants of people living in France. With more than 35,000 respondents, this survey complements existing surveillance systems by collecting data on vaccination uptake, tobacco and alcohol use, suicidal thoughts, perceived health, and more. This data informs prevention policies and helps reduce health inequalities. The 2024 Barometer from Santé publique France marks a significant step forward in analyzing the state of health in the region. For the first time, it offers a nuanced and detailed view at the regional level, allowing us to look beyond national trends alone. This edition introduces a series of indicators that will be tracked in future editions of the Barometer, particularly to analyze their trends. The results already make it possible to assess the region’s standing with regard to the topics studied and to formulate hypotheses regarding the variations observed by age, gender, occupation, socio-professional categories, household type, and residential area (urban/rural). The associations observed between these variables may be the subject of in-depth analyses to better identify the factors influencing perceived health and health determinants. This regional approach provides significant added value: it provides insights into the regional situation, whether regarding behaviors, perceptions, or exposure to the social determinants of health.
