2026 “Sexual Behavior” Survey (ERAS) for men who have sex with men

Santé publique France, in partnership with ANRS - Emerging Infectious Diseases, is launching the fifth edition of the “Rapport au sexe” Health, Sexuality, and Prevention Survey, running from March 16 to April 26, 2026, for men who have sex with men.

Safe Sex

HIV and STI prevention, testing, and sexual orientation—the Sexosafe website addresses issues related to sexuality among men.

Despite significant progress in prevention in recent years, men who have sex with men and transgender people remain particularly vulnerable to HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). They account for 42% of HIV diagnoses reported in 2024. That is why Santé publique France is conducting the Rapport au Sexe survey for the fifth time, with the goal of describing and understanding the sexual and preventive behaviors of men who have sex with men and transgender people.

A 100% digital campaign

The ERAS 2026 survey is conducted via an online questionnaire targeting men over the age of 18 who have sex with men, with the goal of recruiting 20,000 respondents.

Who can participate?

This survey is open to men aged 18 or older, residing in France (mainland and overseas departments), who have had sex with men at some point in their lives, regardless of whether they identify as homosexual, gay, bisexual, heterosexual, etc.

What will the results be used for?

The results of this survey will be used to tailor prevention messaging for men who have sex with men, helping them to adopt various prevention tools and adapt prevention services to their needs.
The initial results will be released in late 2026.
