Key Points
Enterovirus Meningitis: Hospital emergency departments continue to see high volumes of patients with enterovirus meningitis (18 cases in week 28 and 17 cases in week 27, with a peak of 23 cases in week 26), with activity levels above seasonal averages. Decrease in the viral circulation of enteroviruses identified in cerebrospinal fluid samples analyzed at the Virology Laboratories of the Brest University Hospital and the Rennes University Hospital.
Heat-related illnesses: Activity within seasonal averages for all sources, with no heat-related weather alerts in effect. Météo-France does not forecast a heat wave in the region over the next 5 days.In addition, there has been an increase in calls to SOS Médecins (all causes) across the region linked to the long weekend of July 14, as well as high activity in emergency departments and SOS Médecins for insect bites and isolated cases of fever.
