Drownings

  • The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region accounts for 2% of drownings and deaths, with 22 drownings recorded, 6 of which resulted in death (a proportion of 27%) in 2024 [compared to 35 drownings, 14 of which resulted in death, between June 1 and August 21, 2023].

Extreme heat, heat waves

  • Indicators of heat-related illnesses are at low levels.

COVID-19

  • Indicators are at a low level in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

  • The number of emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19 remains stable. People aged 65 and older remain the most represented group (57.1%), followed by those aged 15–44 (16.7%). The proportion of COVID-19 cases among total emergency room visits remains below 1%.

Zika, Dengue, Chikungunya

  • Since May 1, 42 imported cases of dengue have been biologically confirmed. As observed at the national level, half of the cases (57%, 24 cases) were returning from Martinique and Guadeloupe. No imported cases of chikungunya or Zika virus infection have been detected. The majority of imported cases were reported in Côte-d’Or (18 cases).
