The SARS-CoV-2 positivity rate remains steady at 8.5%.
Indicators show that SARS-CoV-2 continues to circulate at a high level, with a prolonged impact on mortality. Prevention and social distancing measures are essential to combat this epidemic, especially given the identification of new SARS-CoV-2 variants in France. The vaccination campaign targeted residents of nursing homes in late 2020 and is now being expanded to include those aged 75 and older.

Hospital surveillance
Réseau Oscour ®: 410 suspected COVID-19 cases per 10,000 visits (Week 03, 430 in Week 02)
SI-VIC: 1,850 people hospitalized, including 178 in intensive care as of 01/27/2021
Intensive care sentinel services: 72.5% men, 70% aged 65 and older, and 92% with at least one comorbidity
Surveillance in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes
Since March 1, 20,886 confirmed and probable cases among nursing home residents (including 1,941 deaths) and 11,217 confirmed and probable cases among nursing home staff

Mortality declined in January among those aged 65 to 84 as well as among those aged 85 and older.
Flu
Flu-related activity at SOS Médecins and emergency departments remains low.
Bronchiolitis
Activity related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age remains below the levels observed during the two previous seasons, both for SOS Médecins and for emergency departments.
Gastroenteritis
SOS Médecins activity for gastroenteritis has been rising slightly over the past 3 weeks. Activity observed in emergency departments remains low, still below the levels seen during the previous two seasons.
