Health Monitoring in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region. Update as of June 23, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
In week 24, the increase in the incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infections continued for the third consecutive week (+38%), with a rate of 389 per 100,000 inhabitants in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The impact on hospitals remains limited, but an increase in new hospitalizations was observed in week 24 following several weeks of a marked decline.
Monkeypox
14 confirmed cases in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes as of June 21, 2022
Extreme heat, heat wave
From June 15 to 22, 2022, up to 10 departments in our region were placed under an orange heat wave alert (Ain, Allier, Ardèche, Cantal, Drôme, Isère, Loire, Haute-Loire, Puy-de-Dôme, Rhône). This heatwave, which affected much of France, was particularly intense and occurred early in the season, before the body had time to adapt to summer temperatures.
Chikungunya, dengue, Zika
5 cases of dengue as of June 22, 2022
Enterovirus meningitis
Emergency departments appear to be observing an early increase in the number of emergency room visits for viral meningitis in S23. To date, the weekly number of cases observed in 2022 is higher than that observed during the same period in 2021, and equivalent to that observed during the same period in 2019 and 2020.
