Situation Analysis

All epidemiological surveillance indicators point to the continuation of the outbreak. Several of them (clinically suggestive cases, probable or confirmed cases, emergency department visits) even indicate an intensification of the outbreak. This outbreak is widespread throughout the entire country. No unusual severity has been associated with this epidemic to date. The predominance of DENV-4, observed since June, continued in August. This serotype had not circulated in Guadeloupe for several years. The situation remains at Phase 4, Level 1 of the Psage Dengue* (confirmed epidemic). Given the epidemiological situation, it is important to reiterate the importance of eliminating larval breeding sites and protecting oneself against mosquitoes. In the event of sudden onset of fever, it is recommended to consult your primary care physician.
