Dengue Surveillance in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. Update as of July 9, 2020.

Epidemiological Situation

Guadeloupe: After the virus had been circulating at moderate levels since early April, a decline in surveillance indicators has been observed over the past two weeks.
However, the outbreak continues, and serotype 2 remains the predominant circulating serotype. Three outbreak clusters have been identified in the municipalities of Deshaies (Caféière), Vieux-Fort (Matouba), and Sainte-Rose (Desbonnes).

Saint Martin: The epidemic continues at moderate levels. The predominant circulating serotype is serotype 1. No new outbreak has been identified in addition to the already known outbreaks (Cul-de-sac, Baie Orientale, Baie Nettlé, and Jardin d’Orient).

Saint-Barthélemy: Since mid-May, the circulation of the dengue virus has significantly intensified. For all surveillance indicators, the values reached are the highest since the first confirmed cases were recorded in late 2019. The management committee may be consulted shortly to discuss a possible change in the Psage phase.
