During this heat wave, all departments were placed under an orange heat wave alert, except for the Hautes-Alpes (yellow). The heat wave ended on July 3. The Alpes-Maritimes department had the highest number of days under an orange heat wave alert (11 days). A second heatwave began on July 5, with Météo France issuing an orange heatwave alert for the Vaucluse department, followed by the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department on July 7.
- A regional analysis of emergency care utilization shows an increase in emergency room visits, hospitalizations, and SOS Médecins calls related to iCanicule during the first heatwave episode through the end of June, followed by a decrease in these indicators. The same trend is observed for cases of fainting.
- Since the start of the current heatwave, a slight increase in iCanicule medical interventions across all age groups has been observed.
