Mortality
- The number of deaths observed in S22 was 1,525, significantly higher than the expected number of deaths (n = 1,302, or +17.1%). People aged 65 and older accounted for 83.4% of the deaths.
- This number was 1,230 in S23, lower than the expected number of deaths (n = 1,291).
COVID-19
- SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater: The level of SARS-CoV-2 circulation in wastewater followed an overall trend toward stabilization in S24. The intensity of viral circulation remained low.
- The number of SOS Médecins calls and emergency department visits for suspected COVID-19 remained stable at low levels for several weeks.
Smallpox B (mpox)
- The weekly number of smallpox B cases in Île-de-France increased during April, followed by a decrease in May and relative stabilization during the last weeks of June.
- Although the figures remain significantly lower than those observed in 2022, 2026 has been marked by an increase in the circulation of smallpox B, likely associated with the emergence of clade Ib, requiring heightened vigilance during the summer months.
