Santé publique France is France’s national public health agency. A public institution under the authority of the Minister of Health, established by Order No. 2016-246 of April 15, 2016, it works to promote public health. As a scientific and expert agency in the health sector, its missions include:

1. Epidemiological observation and surveillance of the population’s health status;

2. Monitoring health risks threatening the population;

3. Promoting health and reducing health risks;

4. Developing prevention and health education;

5. Preparation for and response to health threats, alerts, and crises;

6. Issuing health alerts.

The agency is organized around scientific and cross-functional departments, as well as departments providing operational support.
Its work program, approved by its Board of Directors, is structured around five priority areas: health determinants, populations, diseases, interventions and regions, and infrastructure.

Office of Communications - Scientific Outreach Unit

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of the Scientific Outreach Unit within the Directorate of Communication and Dialogue with Society, the incumbent will work under the supervision of the unit head, in collaboration with the unit team and the Directorate of Communication.
The Coordinator of Editorial Projects and English-Language Production will be responsible for coordinating editorial projects and managing and tracking requests for translation and scientific editing from all divisions of the agency, as well as promoting scientific articles by the agency’s authors in international journals:

Coordinating editorial projects to enhance the visibility and readability of the agency’s content tailored to each target audience:

• Coordinating issues of Paroles d’experts

• Contributing to the redesign of the English-language website and its launch

• Monitoring trends in the publishing sector, particularly those related to artificial intelligence

• Proposing new content formats: data visualization/graphic summaries/podcasts/videos, etc.

• Monitoring and proposing editorial partnerships to amplify the agency’s scientific voice

• Participation in defining action plans to promote the agency’s initiatives internationally

• Occasional contributions to international events organized by the agency

Monitoring translation and scientific editing requests from all agency departments and the General Directorate:

• Producing a dashboard and tracking requests from order placement to receipt of articles

• Liaising with service providers and tracking purchase orders through to project completion

• Activity planning and monthly reporting on the status of requests and the budget

• Monitoring of public contracts under his responsibility

Translation and/or proofreading in English:

• Abstracts of scientific reports and summaries of BEH articles

• Certain scientific posters and specific agency bulletins

• Translation of the monthly column “Article of the Month: 3 Questions for…”

• Translation into English of infographics, posters, and content as needed

Monitoring of the agency’s scientific articles submitted for publication in international journals:

• Preparation of the monthly Santé publique France bulletin in scientific journals (in InDesign) and the corresponding HTML newsletter
