Santé publique France is France’s national public health agency. A public institution under the authority of the Minister of Health, formed through the merger of several public institutions and established by Ordinance 2016-246 of April 15, 2016, the agency works to promote public health. As a scientific, expert, and public health safety agency, its missions include:

  1. Epidemiological observation and surveillance of the population’s health status;
  2. Monitoring health risks threatening the population;
  3. Promoting health and reducing health risks;
  4. Developing prevention and health education;
  5. Preparation for and response to health threats, alerts, and crises;
  6. Issuing public health alerts.

The agency is organized into 12 departments—some scientific, some cross-functional, and some providing operational support.

The agency’s strategic priorities and work program, established by its Board
of Directors, are organized into three areas: Strengthening the capacity for anticipation and rapid response to health threats; Measuring and assessing the extent of diseases and risk factors to guide their prevention and control; Strengthening the health impact of all public policies and the prevention and promotion of health.

Executive Management / Office of the President

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Chief of Staff, to whom he or she reports directly, and within the context of the organization’s operations, the Executive Assistant helps ensure that the CEO and the entire executive team can fulfill their responsibilities to the best of their ability.

Responsibilities

In coordination with the Chief of Staff, the Chief of Staff’s Assistant is responsible for:

  • Preparing and managing relations with Parliament and the agency’s partners: organizing and following up on requests for hearings and bilateral meetings;
  • Organizing and following up on requests related to inspection missions and investigations by the Court of Auditors;
  • Assisting with the organization of Board of Directors meetings and internal and external events in coordination with the various departments;
  • In collaboration with the General Directorate’s secretariat, drafting letters, talking points, and speeches, and creating summary PowerPoint presentations;
  • Drafting memos and position papers in coordination with the Agency’s departments;
  • Organizing meetings (agendas, minutes, and other related tasks) and travel within France and abroad (travel orders and expense reports);
  • At the request of the Chief of Staff, attending meetings, working groups, or committees, and preparing the minutes;
  • Monitoring the Chief of Staff’s office management tools (tracking correspondence, monitoring the progress of bilateral agreements, managing referrals, and maintaining records of official representations);
  • Contributing to the preparation and drafting of proposals for national honors (orders of merit, Legion of Honor);
  • In coordination with the secretariat and the Communications Department, and with support from internal departments, the position coordinates the organization and oversight of travel arrangements, official ceremonies (hosting foreign delegations, etc.), seminars, and receptions;
  • Updating fact sheets presenting the agency’s activities;
  • Summarizing and monitoring various matters under the purview of the General Directorate and providing support on cross-functional issues;
  • Compiling in-depth background documents in preparation for meetings and appointments involving members of the General Directorate;
  • Updating fact sheets presenting the agency’s activities.
