Report on the second human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign conducted in 7th-grade classes during the 2024–2025 school year in France

In France, vaccination against HPV infections has been recommended for girls since 2007 and for boys since 2021. It is recommended for children aged 11 to 14 as part of a two-dose vaccination schedule. A first national HPV vaccination campaign was organized in middle schools during the 2023–2024 school year.¹ This campaign was repeated during the 2024–2025 school year. Like the previous one, it was conducted in participating public and private middle schools and targeted 7th-grade students. In 2024–2025, the majority of these students were born in 2012. The 2023–2024 campaign took place in two phases: the first between October and December 2023 to administer the first dose, and the second between April and June 2024 to administer the second dose. For the 2024–2025 campaign, the organization—and specifically the dates for each phase—varied by region. This year, HPV vaccination was also offered to 11- to 14-year-olds living in residential or non-residential settings at a medical-social institution (MSI).
