To reduce social inequalities in health, the role and responsibilities of the City Health Workshops should be strengthened [Interview]
There are 264 City Health Workshops (ASV) operating in French municipalities. This initiative involves implementing measures to address health inequalities across different neighborhoods and regions. These Workshops are established by mayors, who now work in close cooperation with regional health agencies. The National Agency for Social Cohesion and Equal Opportunity (Acsé) manages this program on behalf of the Ministry of Urban Affairs. The three priorities of the Workshops are prevention, health promotion, and improving access to healthcare. Rémi Frentz explains the role they play in reducing social health inequalities.
