How can we reduce social inequalities in health? : Learn more [Bibliography]
Social health inequalities stem from the broader social inequalities that shape society, and their existence manifests as a continuum—a social gradient of health outcomes. This is why we chose not to focus our literature review specifically on documents addressing the issue of inequalities solely from the perspective of the health of the most vulnerable populations, “exclusion,” or the margins of society. The bibliography presented in this section first offers a selection of general books and articles on the issue of social health inequalities. A second section lists documents presenting recent data as well as methodological approaches to measuring health inequalities. The third section lists documents addressing the foundations and determinants of social health inequalities. The books and articles referenced in the final section concern the policies and actions implemented to reduce social health inequalities.[article excerpt]
