Monitoring of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. Bulletin of November 23, 2009.

Update for Weeks 44 and 45 (October 26–November 8, 2009):

  • The weekly number of reported carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning incidents has seen a moderate increase compared to the previous two weeks, but remains lower than that observed during the same period in 2008.

  • One death, associated with an accidental CO poisoning incident, was reported,

  • 3 incidents of mass CO poisoning occurred in public venues (a church, a community hall, and a vacation center), exposing a total of more than 250 people to CO fumes. Environmental investigations, currently being conducted by the environmental health services of the relevant Departmental Directorates of Health and Social Affairs (DDASS), aim to determine
