Key points: Favorable prognosis with a 5-year age-adjusted survival rate of 86% for people diagnosed between 2010 and 2015 (comparable for men and women); 5-year age-adjusted survival rate decreases progressively with age at diagnosis: 97% for people aged 40 versus 79% for those aged 80; Improvement in 1-year standardized net survival (+10 percentage points) and 5-year standardized net survival (+25 percentage points) between 1995 and 2015, and in 10-year standardized net survival between 1995 and 2010 (+27 percentage points); Greater improvement in net survival among people over 60 years of age (peaking at age 80, with a 38-percentage-point increase in 5-year net survival); High excess mortality rate at diagnosis among 80-year-olds diagnosed between 2010 and 2015, and none among those diagnosed at age 40.
