Survival of People with Cancer in Metropolitan France, 1989–2018 - Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

In France, for the year 2018, the estimated number of new cases of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma was 5,071, including 2,778 in men and 2,293 in women. Key points: 5-year age-adjusted overall survival of 61% for individuals diagnosed between 2010 and 2015; Significant difference in 5-year overall survival between individuals diagnosed at age 40 and those diagnosed at age 80: 85% versus 45%; Improvement in 1-, 5-, and 10-year net survival regardless of age at diagnosis between 1995 and 2010 (though less pronounced in older individuals): +25 percentage points for 10-year survival; A slowdown in the improvement of 5-year age-standardized net survival between those diagnosed in 2010 and those diagnosed in 2015; An excess mortality rate close to zero for younger individuals (40 years old) after two years of follow-up among those diagnosed between 2010 and 2015.
