Survival of Cancer Patients in Metropolitan France, 1989–2018 – Larynx

In France, for the year 2018, the estimated number of new cases of laryngeal cancer was 2,753 among men and 407 among women. Key points: 5-year age-standardized survival rate of 59% for people diagnosed between 2010 and 2015; Better 5-year net survival for women than for men diagnosed before age 70, between 2010 and 2015; For individuals diagnosed between 1989 and 2000 and under age 70 at diagnosis, low excess mortality rates from 5 to 20 years of follow-up; Slight improvement in standardized net survival at 1 year and 5 years, between 1990 and 2015; More marked improvement in standardized net survival at 10 years of follow-up for individuals diagnosed in 2010 compared to those diagnosed in 1990 (+9 percentage points).
