2015 Cancer Barometer. Perceptions of Cancer Care and Information on Cancer and Its Risk Factors

The results of the 2015 Cancer Barometer confirm those of previous editions and show that certain socioeconomic groups deserve special attention to address the information gap. - The majority of French people appear to be well-informed about the impact of lifestyle habits on health. The information gap primarily concerns natural environmental risk factors and physical and infectious agents. - Fewer than one in ten people cite prevention campaigns as a source of information. - Television is no longer the dominant medium but remains the primary source for disadvantaged socioeconomic groups. It appears necessary to improve knowledge of warning signs, especially among the most disadvantaged. - Nine out of ten people agree with the idea that many cancers can be cured today. - Nearly all people who have experienced this disease personally or among their loved ones are satisfied with the care provided.
