Data provided by Santé publique France. Epidemiological data on retired artisans from the ESPrI program
The Epidemiology and Surveillance of Self-Employed Workers (ESPrI) program aims to generate data useful for post-occupational health surveillance among self-employed workers based on a cohort of retired individuals. The ESPrI program was established in 2005 in collaboration with the CNAM. The program has made it possible to: • identify retired artisans who were exposed to asbestos during their professional careers so they could receive medical follow-up; • estimate, based on observed data, the prevalence of occupational exposure to asbestos and other carcinogenic hazards such as silica among the artisan population, and describe it by gender, sector of activity, and occupation; • to study mortality and causes of death among retired craftsmen in relation to past occupational exposure to certain carcinogens; the occurrence of health events such as cancer and the health effects of past occupational exposure; • to study compensation for retired artisans through the recognition of a disease linked to past asbestos exposure via This document answers the following questions: What is the study population, and what anonymized data is available? What are the steps to access the data? Who can request access and how?
