Health in Action, December 2016, No. 438: Sexual Health: Networking to Serve Communities Up Close.

As defined by the World Health Organization (WHO), sexual health is a state of physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being related to sexuality. It has been demonstrated that sexual health contributes to an individual’s physical, mental, and social well-being. This special issue brings together contributions from some twenty experts. It presents the current state of knowledge and reviews a number of initiatives related to networking, most often involving institutions, health, social, and education professionals, as well as associations active in this field. Also in this issue, among the topics covered in the sections: homeless youth, the issue of consent when entering into sexual activity, mobile intervention teams working with vulnerable youth, and street outreach by health and social services professionals working with sex workers.
