Social connections: a key pillar of mental health

It is important to understand the risk and protective factors for mental health in order to address their environmental determinants, such as living conditions. Among these, social connections play a fundamental role. This is reflected in the World Health Organization’s resolution, which calls for making social connections a priority in health policy, with a particular focus on isolated and vulnerable populations.
