The signs of Alzheimer's disease—especially the earliest ones—are still largely unknown to the general public.

Interview with Professor Marc Verny, a neurologist and geriatrician who heads the Geriatric Center at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital (Paris). "The signs of Alzheimer's disease, particularly the earliest ones, remain largely unknown to the general public." For Professor Marc Verny, the INPES survey on Alzheimer's disease, presented above, confirms the lack of information among the general public, particularly regarding the early signs of this disease. This specialist acknowledges the progress made in recent years but highlights the significant difficulty posed by delivering the diagnosis. He also emphasizes that some caregivers suffer not from a lack of, but—paradoxically—complain of too much home care. Overall, it is by better informing the public that we will continue to improve the social perception of this condition.
