Masculine-Feminine: The Rules of Gender: Further Reading [Bibliography]
For this report, our initial literature review on gender-specific prevention approaches led us primarily to documents focusing on gender equality or the status and role of women, particularly from a socioeconomic perspective. We generally excluded these from this section, opting instead to prioritize aspects of psycho-emotional development that are more directly applicable to prevention practices. We chose to highlight three specific topics directly related to health education: the differing health status of men and women; coeducation, as schools are a frequently used setting for prevention interventions; and sexuality, since emotional and sexual education clearly relies on gender considerations. Each of these three topics is covered in a separate section of the bibliography that follows.[article excerpt]
