For the first time in France, former users of the mental health care system will be able to be recruited as “peer health mediators.” Various international programs, drawing on the experience and skills these individuals have developed, demonstrate the value of involving them in professional teams. As a result, thirty mediators will be trained in 2011 and integrated into the systems of three pilot regions.
