Addictive Behaviors in Adolescents: Use, Prevention, and Support.

The Interministerial Mission for the Fight Against Drugs and Drug Addiction (MILDt) has asked Inserm to conduct a review of the scientific literature on the vulnerability of adolescents (aged 10 to 18) to the use of psychoactive substances that are commonly used by young people and for which there is a proven risk of addictive behavior (alcohol, tobacco, cannabis), as well as practices identified as potentially problematic (video games/the Internet, gambling). The MILDT’s request also covered an analysis of effective prevention and intervention strategies for this age group. To address this request, Inserm assembled a multidisciplinary group of experts in epidemiology, public health, humanities and social sciences, addiction studies, neuroscience, and communication.
